Ticket to....Rye

1 March....trip to Rye.....cloudy, sometimes sunny, slight rain, cold wind, E force 1-3

Over to Rye with DH for a meander round Rye Harbour Nature Reserve.....

Stopped at the viewpoint where the highlight was two Marsh Harriers and a Buzzard....plenty to look at though....Water Rail squeeled several times, a Cettis was persistent...a number of Geese out in the fields, including Egyptian.....

On to the front reserve....we missed out on Short-eared Owl....never mind....also....we didnt come across many of the other highlight species other than Common Scoter just off the coast......

There was a good number of Wigeon present....Gadwall, Shoveler, Dunlin, various Gulls, Oystercatchers, Turnstones, Ringed Plover.....Skylarks....a couple of Meadow Pipits....a single Red-legged Partridge....

About 60 species in total.....nice day out...
