Work is in the way again of any early visits....so will have to fit that in at the weekend....hopefully.
School hols too...so with son in hand...and wife too....we set off for a stroll during which my son declared he didnt like the walk just the reward of getting to play on the big piles of sand in the quarry area. Fab! However....heh heh....he then proceeded to show off to mum by telling her the name of the new plant he has learned...Lords and Ladies.....drip drip drip....getting there....
Due to all the above going on....and a loud child....not really much to report. Mind you, the pits were fairly vacant and not a huge amount calling or singing. So...8 Chiffchaff singing...Bullfinch, 1 Meadow Pipit, Great Crested Grebe, Cormorant, Shoveler, Tufted Duck, Mallard, Cormorant, Coot, Moorhen, Grey Heron, Pochard, Pied Wagtail, 1 Grey Wagtail, 1 Buzzard was about it.
A slight variation, as I was accompanied, along the Medway....very turbid...certainly no chance of Kingfisher today...!!
Oak Weir Lock....high water indeed....!
