I was quite surprised to find a frost this morning, though it was disappearing quickly even at 0630...
So I decided it would be a good idea to open up a way through to 'warbler avenue'....having tried to walk through the now over burdened gravel pit I soon found that the water knew where the top of my welly was.....so a kind of new path is now open....though it still means tramping through water and now a good number of brambles....but its a win situation....
….patiently....waiting....for a Nightingale....
5 Skylarks were flying around TNF but little else was present....
A Snipe flew from the edge of East Pit...and.....a Blackcap was calling from the scrub at the eastern end of the pit which was soon located.....
Chiffchaffs were chiffing away happily..though on long straight there is major competion with at least 4, possibly 5, present.....
3 Mandarin were in their favourite Oak tree along the straight....
...Dogs Mercury and Bluebells...
Joining the Blackcap on the new arrivals list...Willow Warbler....was signing south side of Middle Pit then relocated to the north side. Today being another fine, blue sky day im pretty sure by tomorrow there will be more migrants around....
Goldeneye on Middle Pit now numbered 4.... male joining 3 females...
Drake Goldeneye with females....
On my return journey I found a Sand Martin over Island Pit and 2 Fieldfare around the paddocks....
So....whats around....

1 Blackcap
1 Willow Warbler
1 Cettis Warbler
2 Little Egret
1 Nuthatch
1 Sparrowhawk
5 Stock Dove
4 Goldeneye
