Trying Times

…..I fell down to my knees....and I raised my head...
...to the fiery sky, that was turning red.....
John Otway and Wild Willy Barrett

0600 - 0800 frosty, cold, clear sky

A new bird for the site....

Little Ringed Plover

A Little Ringed Plover was at West Pit...not the best photo...but only had my bins....fabulous find....

It is gradually drying out and the paths in places are now just slightly muddy....still plenty of water about though.....

Warblers are slowly coming in....

Chiffchaff 24
Blackcap 2
Willow Warbler 1
Cettis Warbler 1

Other birds of note.....

2 Lapwing....seem to be looking at the field just south of Middle Pit...which is annoying as  West Field is totally unused....but.....looking at the grass in South Field its the kind of field I used to find them on near Rye Harbour.....so im guessing the farmer may dictate any success....

A Green Sandpiper was on the puddles at the east end....

2 Snipe were on the bund between Middle and Island pit....the island is now beginning to show with the continued sunshine....

The Cettis Warbler was over the western side of West Pit...

2 Mandarin Ducks were flying over North Field....
