Sounds of Summer

....is a Common Tern fishing in Dunorlan Park whilst the pedalos and row boats go round the edges....that was a couple of days ago....

...meantime.....

0900 - 1145 overcast, brightening to sun, cool but warming, NW f 1-3

...more sounds of summer at Whetsted too....Garden Warbler, Lesser Whitethroat, Blackcap, Chiffchaff, Whitethroat....and a croaking Nightingale....

...and the sights too...

Bramble

Common Blue female

Dog Rose

Great Crested Grebe parent and juvenile

Common Blue Damselfly

30 or so Swift and 20 House Martin were around Middle and West Pit....and I have finally located 4 Lapwing rather than 3, which I always found odd but you have to have odd numbers somewhere I suppose....so...2 pairs attempting to nest out on West Field....they were calling a reasonable amount so I'm wondering if they have some young out there, though a long search found nothing....another look some time soon...

Lapwing

Some flowers are in full bloom...but some have already done the business of flowering and now are more interested in the next generation.....
