Brrrrr....!!

0900 - 1130 oveecast, cold....bitter at times....NE f2-4

Colder today.....probably because the weather has now been here 24 hours...hard to believe a couple of days ago it was warm....and in two days time it will just about be back to warm again...

.....first though....they worked 6 days and rested on the seventh....in the Demolishing of Whetsted....

What was once home to Feral Pigeons is now piles of concrete and metal....a few were still hanging around but it appears most have gone....

Highlight of the day....as yesterday.....the 2 Sand Martins were still present, almost hovering over the water in the wind.....

A couple of Buzzards were whirring around and a few Meadow Pipits called.  A Skylark was singing over the south fields.

1 Common Gull, 3 Herring Gull, 1 Little Egret, 79 Shoveler, 3 Goldeneye, 7 Teal....

Not much singing really, a few Blue/Great Tits had a go and some Wrens were keen....but it was mostly very quiet on site today...

This was shown even more so by the Fieldfares and Redwings refusing to leave the trees even when I got close where as usually they are away quite quckly....

So....having braced against the cold of Whetsted....I might as well go and brace against the cold at Sevenoaks Reserve...

A couple of migrants had been seen yesterday but were not present today...never mind....

A Moorhen roosts with the gulls...

A good wader for the site is Black-tailed Godwit....it was still present today...
