Hoping to be on site today at sun up....well, first there was no sun to speak of...and second there was rain to speak of....so...breakfast instead...
Eventually the sun made an appearance so I alighted to site...
1100 - 1230 sunny, cloudy, occasional rain, SW f4-5
Highlight was a Grey Wagtail that had returned to site....and 33 Lapwing....
Its always nice to meet a birder on site, very nice chap called Peter who has become a regular, which is great, hopefully this will improve coverage of whats on site and turn up that rarity...or just some birds that must pass by when I'm not there...!!
Just about every bird had retreated to the western most pit on site....
Mallard 4, Gadwall 7, Wigeon 12, Coot 249, Great Crested Grebe 4, Tufted Duck 8, Mute Swan 22, Cormorant 4, Shoveler 5, Greylag Geese 145, Canada Geese 1, Black-headed Gull 119, Herring Gull 10.
