Way Out...

Way out of Kent that is....

As my son is doing the stone age and Stonehenge for his topic at school it was off to the woolly wilds of Salisbury Plain...

....in, what turned out to be...sunny Wiltshire....!!

So, what exciting birds did I see...

Starlings......

Plenty of Starlings around....Skylark still singing, Meadow Pipits calling. Crow, Jackdaw, Magpie, Rook were all present.  A distant Kestrel was being harried by some Crows.  Eventually a Red Kite passed by.

Moving on to Avebury/Silbury Hill....

...highlight here was a Buzzard meandering about...and about 100 people banging drums....no idea what that was about....a Robin tick ticked in a hedge in the village....

Returning along the M4 2 more Red Kite were seen.....not a bad day out for a non birding day out.
