Count

Thankfully there was no heavy fog today, though there was a misty greeting at the pits....funny....its been clear all week when I couldnt get there....whats that all about?

Still...here I am....

Misty, clearing to cloud with some sun, cool to warm, light breeze SW

A quiet day on the pits...amazingly quiet actually....so the highlight for the day was definitely the large flock of migrants...Chiffchaffs, 30+, Willow Warblers, 5+ and Blackcaps 10+....but there were certainly more than this.....

Robin, Wren, Woodpigeon, Great Tit, Green Woodpecker, Magpie, Kestrel, Blackbird, Bullfinch, Goldfinch, Chaffinch, Buzzard, Jay, Crow, Sparrowhawk, Linnet, Jackdaw, Blue Tit, Long Tail Tit, Feral Pigeon, Dunnock, Starling.

On the pits:

47 Mallard, 10 Coot, 17 Moorhen, 9 Great Crested Grebe, 1 Mute Swan, 6 Grey Heron, 1 Greylag Goose, 1 Canada Goose, 1 Little Egret, 1 Tufted Duck, 48 Black Headed Gull, 3 Herring Gull, 1 Kingfisher.

...so this will go toward the main WeBS count for the month....hmmmm....well, you can only count what you can only count.....
