Off we go in to a new year.....by now there should be a reasonable year list....the inveitable trying for the 100 before the end of January.....with all thats been going on over the past few months its pretty unlikely....
0900 - 1100 overcast, dull, occasional light rain clearing, NE f1-2
A quick visit really to get the year started apart from the few birds seen either at home or out and about with the family......highlights were Barn Owl and Water Rail....other than that it was the usual and expected birds....
One thing for sure is the duck numbers are nowhere near what I would expect.....the one good thing here is 40 Pochard....probably the most thats been at the pits since I started watching.....3 female Goldeneye was nice to see.....a single Mandarin Duck flew off Island Pit.....
