...and in the end....

...the love you TAKE....

....is equal to the love...you DESTROY....

There they go....at least 3 pairs of Skylark have been nesting on the field above....any fool can spot a Skylark, they arent hiding away birds like some of the Warblers...they sing their hearts out rising with a beautiful noise of joy....anyway...enough of that as the field is now ploughed...so maybe fools cant spot Skylarks after all....I will watch the field over the next few weeks, im sure they will have another go....

So...what else is happening around the site...the Lesser Whitethroats are on the move again....all budge round one....same for some of the Willow Warblers too...and two new species for the site...!!

Nightingale 4

Whitethroat 11

Willow Warbler 3

Lesser whitethroat 4

Chiffchaff 25+

Blackcap 11

and a new addition to the Warbler list.....huzzah!!

Garden Warbler 1

Some of the Sedge Warblers seem to have moved as well from the Eastern end...the Western end seemed quite noisy with them and their friends, Reed Warblers.

Des-res....

Above is a nice little copse waiting for a passing Nightingale....for the past couple of years there has been one in this area....but not this year...which probably means bad news for the bird as they are quite faithful to sites....on the other hand...its spare....just in case...and already home to Chiffchaff, Blackcap, Song Thrush and a few others....come on in...

Wren, Dunnock, Blue Tit, Chaffinch, Woodpigeon, Goldfinch, Blackbird, Robin, Magpie, Great Tit, Song Thrush, Bullfinch, Green Woodpecker, Crow, Sparrowhawk, Stock Dove, Reed Bunting, Linnet, Long Tail Tit, Yellowhammer, 30+ House Martin, 30+ Sand Martin, 15+ Swallow, Jackdaw, Feral Pigeon, Mistle Thrush.

The other new species for the day....2 Swift

On the water...

Mallard, Moorhen, Coot, Canada Goose, Great Crested Grebe, Little Grebe, Tufted Duck, Mute Swan, Grey Heron, Greylag Goose, Cormorant, Little Egret, Kingfisher, 2 Lapwing, 5 Herring Gull, 2 Lesser Black-backed Gull.

Talking of Mute Swan...

....im pretty sure this is one of their eggs....Canada Goose is similar but probably smaller...
