Home and Away

No...dont rush off...this is not a review or homage to that crud Aussie TV show.....

At home....the Siskins, 12 this morning, were happily feeding on and under the feeders at 0800 in the slight drizzle..

..they were joined by a male and female Chaffinch which, no doubt, will be reproducing soon..

....but the stunning bird of the day in the garden had to be the solitary Lesser Redpoll male that had joined them.....clearly well in to looking good for the ladies....all scarlety bright red....

On the Away side, and out of Kent....went to Bedgebury where theres always the hope of coming across some Crossbills I suppose....not that I found any today.....

.....on the way, along the Lamberhurst bypass, my wife spotted a 'brown raptor in a tree'...a Buzzard I mused, having missed it....within a few seconds she then had the temerity to spot two deer running across a field.....blimey, I felt rather lagging behind at this point.....!  My only saving grace was adding they were Roe Deer.

I couldnt really make up for it any more until on our return...along the same stretch...2 Buzzards allowed me to regain some ground......but, over all....2-0 to the wife.....
