15 January 2016 Cold, frosty, clear sky but clouding over, WNW F1-3

....and it was white...frosty white....hey, whats happened to the winter...its got all...wintery....two frost in a few days...wooo hoooo....!!!  And cold....excellent....this is more like it and...the birds would prove this is winter weather....so...WeBS count...and.....here we go...

Chaffinch, Starling, Woodpigeon, Crow, Blackbird, Magpie, Jay, Bullfinch, Redwing, Fieldfare, Great Tit, Pied Wagtail, Robin, Goldfinch, 1 Stock Dove, Long Tail Tit, Linnet, Blue Tit, 2 Grey Wagtail, Dunnock, Wren, Green Woodpecker, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Buzzard, Feral Pigeon, Meadow Pipit.

On the water....

4 Mallard, 116 Coot, 64 Tufted Duck, 10m 8f Pochard (seperate sex counting day for the BTO), 23 Gadwall, 3 Mute Swan, 7 Great Crested Grebe, 9 Little Grebe, 15 Cormorant, 4 Moorhen, 16 Shoveler, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Little Egret, 1 Water Rail, 1 Green Sandpiper, 2 Goldeneye (1m 1f), 1 Slavonian Grebe (first I have recorded here).

So, winter fowl have certainly arrived or appeared...though....im about 40 or so Coot gone missing...hmmmm....
