Moon down......
Sun up....!!
The Nightingales were a little intermittent today....but now they are 4....!!
A Lesser Whitethroat was new in and sang briefly by Middle Pit...im pretty sure it wont stay there...
Over at West Pit a Whitethroat was singing....this is the expected first place for them every year, in the north west corner....
The Reed Warbler has seemingly set up home in the same place I found it yesterday...at the south east corner of West Pit....
Nightingale 4
Chiffchaff 30+
Blackcap 15+
Willow Warbler 2
Lesser Whitethroat 1
Whitethroat 1
Reed Warbler 1
When I got back home I opened the ringing net that I have set up in the garden.....it was a pretty poor winter anyway, with all the rain and wind and very few frosts....in fact, I reckon we have had just as many frosts in the past couple of weeks as we did over winter!!….and now the virus has struck theres no chance of finding a summer site....it may be possible I suppose to find an autumn site to get some warblers on the way back....
Anyway....the garden has been quiet over the winter period as well.....but three times opening the nt has achieved....one bird the first time.....2 birds the second and.....3 today....heres a couple....
