pilaris off....

0630 - 0900  bright, high cloud moving in, chilly but warming SE f1-3

First, lets get the rubbish picture out the way...

Moschatel....or Town Hall Clock....or Adoxa moschatellina

Bit out of focus but was using my phone.....this is over in the planted east wood....I highlighted this last year when I first found it....maybe it survived form some distant past when the place was a native woodland....still...its nice to see again....

On to the birds....

There are now only about 10 or so Shovelers....so I will have to count the Tufted Ducks again for something to count on the water....not much else to report on the water, Mute Swan, Great Crested Grebe, Little Grebe, Coot....certainly 2 Teal, possibly 4.....and not on the water they were flying around....3 Mandarin Ducks....

Warbler count....

Chiffchaff 29
Blackcap 11
Willow Warbler 3
Cettis Warbler 1

The two 'usual' Willow Warbler areas are now occupied....nice to have a third on site.  We shall see...if theres anywhere near double number again it will be very pleasing.

A Swallow was zooming around....and I found a few Fieldfares at the S bends, Turdus pilaris, its always surprising how long they hold on though many have gone....only one Little Egret today.  A Sparrowhawk headed from north to south from around the Grey Heronry...Kestrel and Buzzard made the three raptors today....
