Cettis

0630 - 0815 overcast, occasionally brighter, calm

....morning reflection....

A quick visit to site to see if anything new has arrived...hoping for a couple of migrants...its that time and its the excitement building....

As it was there was plenty of bird song to cheer along the little time I was there....Great Tits, Blue Tits, Chaffinches, Song Thrush, Blackbird, Nuthatch, Reed Buntings, Yellowhammers.....all good tunesmiths....

Grey Herons in their favoured southside tree...

I could only find 6 Teal this morning, there are probably more around, plenty of calling so I'm sure some are hiding in the reeds and Willow edges as the water remains very high.  The site is quite boggy in areas.

2 Mandarin were flying around, 70 Shoveler, 5 Pochard....one still hanging out with the Shovelers....a Little Egret was there too.  I couldn't find any Goldeneye this morning.

The Cettis Warbler has moved slightly north already, though roughly in the same area just west of Middle Pit.  He was clearly up for a bit of singing.....heres hoping!

Bullfinch

The usual Bullfinches were around, certainly plenty of calling.  Goldfinches and a Siskin were on Long Strait.

On Middle Pit the 2 Smew were still present.
