....a tethered mind freed....
I Will Wait, Mumford and Sons

That is....waiting for a warbler....patience is a virtue....impatience is a birder....I suppose its still only 8 April....so plenty of time yet....tap tap tap tap tap.....!

So I thought I would do an early morning visit and have another count up....well..it was a plan...that was about to go down the, wherever plans go.....when I got to the pits they were covered in mist which only got worse the closer I got to the pits themselves...

0620 - 0950 Misty clearing to hazy sun.  Cool but warming.

So...no count today....

On the pits - that I saw or heard:

Mallard, Tufted Duck, Coot, 4 Cormorant, Great Crested Grebe, Little Grebe, 2 Teal, Gadwall, Mute Swan, 4 Grey Heron (different tree), Moorhen, 2 Mandarin Duck, Black Headed Gull, Greylag Geese, Canada Geese, 5 Lesser Black Back Gull....and the highlight....2 Green Sandpiper.

Warbler count - seems to be better mid morning onward to count....! :

Chiffchaff 28
Blackcap 4

Other around the pits:

Dunnock, Blackbird, Woodpigeon, Song Thrush, Chaffinch, Crow, Robin, Linnet, Green Woodpecker, Wren, Feral Pigeon, Jackdaw, 2 Pied Wagtail, 2 Grey Wagtail, Yellowhammer, Bullfinch, 2 Buzzard, Stock Dove, Reed Bunting, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Skylark, Blue Tit, Magpie, Great Tit....

...off piste...a wander over to the Medway....
