A late start, but back to school for my son so its a get there when you can situation at the moment weekdays....I wont complain, no work this week so at least I can get a visit in....
Highlight of the day was not ornithological though...
Ive never seen a swarm of bees....apart from on the TV of course.....until today....heres a picture of the swarm cluster settling on a tree....

They seemed to have moved out of a little bit of woodland and were gently moving toward this Willow on the bank of one of the pits. I wonder where the nearest hives are?...
There were also plenty of Damselflies on the wing....here are a few...

This Brimstone butterfly was a great find and nice to see, it took a while to catch up with it as it didnt want to settle....but a little persistence...

I reckon that ''Male'' Blue Tailed damselfly is a female Graham, its one of the different colour forms, by the looks of it a ''Violecea''
