Cant recall when it was....last week...end of....all i recall is it was rainy on and off....
I went to do a quick nightingale count....15 on site and three just north of site.....i then menadered around a bit till it came on to rain hard and as i was already damp decided to go home...
4 lesser whitethroat too....
However....
What a great surprise to find a Wheatear around the yard area.....first one ive seen on site...found two one autumn many years ago in the fields south of the pits...
Ive always thought they must be there as my previous sighting was near by, they are seen every spring over at Hadlow and others have seen them in the paddock wood area.....
