How many days

1000 - 1200 cloudy, occasional sun, occasional light rain, warm

How many days have the fishermen been there...well, today I spoke to one of them at Far East....I remember this happening to me, after days away from the 'mainstream' of society you tend to lose track of time a bit....eventually he settled on 15 days....probably about right...and they have no intention of leaving any time soon....and, indeed, why would they....

Anyway....warbler avenue was the place to be....Nightingale.....has arrived....it only sang for a short while...and not over enthusiastically....but...it sang...now its just a matter of how many....its great to have one back on site....

Chiffchaffs obviously remain in pole position for numbers.....I counted at least 35.....10 Blackcap but there are more....and today there were 3 Willow Warblers.....

A Water Rail called from the Island Pit area....maybe its on its way somewhere....

5 Stock Dove were calling/singing....

The puddle the south side of West pit has all but dried up....so there possibly wont be too much action there in the future, especially with no rain forecast.....

The Lapwing seem to have settled...im reasonably sure....on the western side of the field south of West Pit....so I will continue to monitor them....

….and....back to Cettis Warblers....im wondering how many are on site now.....is it one zooming around...or 2 moving about a bit....or 4.....??

The first was singing from the West Gate area....then I heard one on the west side of West Pit.....then I heard one over the north east side of Middle Pit.....and finally one at the eastern end of Island Pit....so the last two are reasonably close....and the first two aren't that distant to travel....so I think I will settle on...possibly 2....maybe 3....doh!
