It was always on the cards

So lets deal with the sh*t straight away...the farmer has been in to North Field and mowed it...

.....not that he has done anything useful with the cuttings....mostly just dumped them to the side of the field so not even adding nutrients back in to the field...

....so long 3-4 pairs of Skylarks....it was very quiet there today.....

0930 - 1200 sunny, clear, cool SSE f1-2

Later than usual visit today....other stuff going on....anyway....a bit more Nightingale surveying was the aim....managed to find 7....and they are still jiggling around the site....

Lesser Whitethroat, Whitethroat, Blackcap, Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler, Garden Warbler all accounted for....

On Middle Pit the 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls were looking moody and the Tufteds seemed intent on avoiding them by being the other end of the pit....

Oveer West Pit there was about 100 birds.....a mix of Swifts, Swallows and House Martins....nice to see.....

And over on Westfield the 2 Lapwing were swooping and displaying...though I did see 4 heading in that direction....
