It will be a good summer...according to the Oak....

0900 - 1100 warm, sunny with some cloud SW-SE f2-4

A second Nightingale has landed on site in another one of the traditional areas for them on site and seems settled in already, singing quite merrily this morning.

Willow Warbler, Cettis Warbler, Reed Warbler, Blackcap, Chiffchaff, Whitethroat all accounted for though couldn't locate the Lesser, maybe hes looking round.

If this weather holds this week there should be a good number of all warblers by the end of the week....heres hoping.

Also found Nuthatch out east....a Cuckoo was singing and sitting on top of an Ash tree by Middle Pit.  And a male Mandarin was doing the flying round thing they seem to be in to at the moment....although ive noticed there is no calling now.....

A few Linnet have taken up song in a few places round the site....

Linnet

And as usual when you take a picture....

....they fly away....

Also noted it is sitting on top of an Ash along the south side of the pits....also note no leaf in view for Ash...but I did find an Oak coming in to leaf...Oak before the Ash....in for a splash...should be a good summer....

A mystery has appeared on site over the last week....I'm sure they mean something to the guys working on site but they are in various places....
