Here Comes The Summer

1000 - 1315 bright, sunny, little cloud, warm with cool breeze N f1-2

Clocks go forwards and up turns a very warm day....nice....still need wellies though...

As I was walking on to site I was thinking to myself that I hadn't seen any winter thrushes for a while...about a dozen Redwing were in the paddocks....maybe I should have thought I hadn't seen a Bald Eagle for a while!...

2 Nuthatches, 2 Lesser Redpoll, 1 Mandarin Duck, 17 Shoveler, 3 Goldeneye, 8 Pochard, 3 Common Gull, 5 Snipe, Kingfisher....

14 Chiffchaff

Several Brimstone butterflies were around the site as well looking lovely a fresh and a deep colour....

An idiot was swimming in Island Pit, probably the dipstick I saw last year.....he had walked along the bund separating Island Pit and Middle Pit so had clearly scattered the ducks....hardly anything on Island Pit and anything on Middle Pit at the western end....most birds on West Pit....as I watch he exited the pit and went to swim in Middle Pit....
