SW f2-4 gusting 5-6 occasional 7 windy, overcast, chilly......
A sniffly nose, runny eyes and a bit of a cough sent me off to the wilds of the pits for this months WeBS count....
I havent been out for a while due to circumstances...but im hoping this will improve in the coming weeks ahead....and here we are....3 or 4 weeks from Chiffchaff day.......but in the meantime.....
Song has started to get in to the swing of it....this weeks stars were Chaffinch, Song Thrush and Dunnock.
A Buzzard was having a hard time being harassed by some Crows....it must be tiresome for birds of prey at times....
Robin, Woodpigeon, Fieldfare, Wren, Blackbird, Long Tail Tit, Starling, Green Woodpecker, Blue Tit, Skylark, Goldfinch, Magpie, Siskin, Bullfinch, GreatTit, Redwing, Jay, 2 Grey Wagtail, Yellowhammer, Rook, Jackdaw, Pied Wagtail, Goldcrest.
On the water......
Mallard 5, Coot 48, Great Crested Grebe 2, Tufted Duck 54, Pochard 8, Gadwall 7, Grey Heron 1, Mute Swan 9, Mandarin Duck 1, Moorhen 1, Shoveller 25, Cormorant 5, Little Egret 1, Herring Gull 7, Common Gull 6, Black Headed Gull 115, Mediterranean Gull 1.
3 or 4 weeks from Chiffchaff day - but the weather looks to turn colder than it has done for most of this winter mate! Duh!
