How many...?

How many Mandarin Ducks does it take?....

                          Well.....in this case.....20....!!!

Ive never seen 20 Mandarin Ducks all at the same time im sure....well...fairly sure....I wonder how many they have at Slimbridge...I went there once, many years ago....but hey, here in Kent...I wonder how many there are in Kent...well...at least 20 today I suppose....

0900 - 1115 hiemal, nebulous but brightening.

A late visit after the school run....no work....so no excuse....though choices had to be made....ive still not completed setting up my winter bird ringing site...though I have finally, last week, got the fourth run of nets up in the apple trees....just the feeder nets to do.

So...I went birding, mainly because I felt I have somewhat neglected the pits.  Seems like I havent been for some time....and as the weather was nice....it had better be done...

And...it was done...

  1. re. your Mandarin Ducks, I can recall having the same thoughts about the lovely Ruddy Ducks, we even had two pairs nesting on the Swale NNR at the time - we all know how that ended up!
