Time and tide...

....wait for no man....

I remember my Mum used to say this regularly enough for me to say it these days....I suppose we all end up saying what our parents said to us....though I dont say the one about Carrots to my son...

Its an old saying by the way....pre-dating a lot of other stuff....Google it...

WeBS day for August....talking of time waiting for no man....nor indeed no bird....5 Swallows were roosting along the banks of East Beach....Chiffchaffs were H-weet-ing all over the place and Whitethroats seemed to be oozing over the hedges...all in the build up for migration....

Its too late to say 'theyre off'...as some birds have already off-ed....all these will follow as the outpouring of species directs itself toward Africa....even if they dont reach that far.....it isnt the place thats calling them, but the urge inside that humans will never understand and cannot fathom....mind you, if they did fathom they would get no further than the end of the road before they were hopelessly lost!!

0530 - 0800 initially overcast but bright, clearing to sunshine, cool to warming, zero wind.
