And here we are...just about mid-July and beginning to think about the returning birds from further north. A search of the shoreline didnt produce a wader. Maybe next week!...though the Coots seem to have decided to come back....!!

5 Herring Gull, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 9 Black Headed Gull, 1 Mediterranean Gull, 17 Mallard, 16 Tufted Duck, 13 adult, 5 immature Mute Swan, 74 Coot (returned from...?), 5 Moorhen, 5 adult, 1 immature Great Crested Grebe, 3 Greylag Geese, 5 Canada Geese, 1 Kingfisher.
....and along the south pits side....
Woodpigeon, Chiffchaff, Goldfinch, Crow, Song Thrush, Wren, Greenfinch, Yellowhammer, 10 Stock Dove, 1 Turtle Dove, 19 Feral Pigeon, Dunnock, Magpie, 1 Swift, Linnet, Green Woodpecker, Starling, Blackbird, Bullfinch, Great Tit, Blue Tit, Reed Warbler, Treecreeper, Reed Bunting, Skylark, Whitethroat, Robin, Long Tail Tit, Jackdaw, Pied Wagtail.
Here on Sheppey we had a regular stream of Sand Martins and Swallows going SW this morning, so some birds are going through early.
