Turdus Off...!!

0700 - 0900 50% cloud, cool, WSW F3-5

Well....I dont think they have gone just yet....but there was an interesting absence of Fieldfare and Redwing from my walk today.

I guess its coming round to that interesting cross-over point...a few more days and Chiffchaffs will be chiffing and chaffing and Fieldfares still a-crack-a-ling.

...and the return of my absolute favourite songster.....Nightingale.....is but a few weeks away.....

So....back to today....still plenty of other birds to hear and see.....

Robin, Chaffinch, Crow, Woodpigeon, Collared Dove, Great Tit, Dunnock, Blackbird, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Green Woodpecker, Song Thrush, Goldcrest, Blue Tit, Feral Pigeon, Magpie, Meadow Pipit, Skylark, Wren, Kestrel, Bullfinch......first singing Yellowhammer....  ....Starling...first singing Reed Bunting.....Jackdaw.

Out on the water:

21 Cormorant, 10 Mallard, 12 Great Crested Grebe (mostly paired up), 3 Little Grebe, 2 Gadwall, 34 Shoveler, 18 Pochard, 3 Mute Swan, 5 Grey Heron, 52 Tufted Duck, 28 Coot, 95 Black Headed Gull, 2 Herring Gull, 3 Moorhen, 2 Lapwing.
