Well, initially hoping for a similar day to yesterday, during which I couldnt escape the house due to a case of the 'builders' and a fine day meaning things could be done.....so, Accuweather was touting a similar day, whilst the MetOffice were touting rain....so I decided, obviously foolishly, to trust the first.
Up at dawn to go ringing and it was too windy, so, in the dark I went and filled the feeders and then headed for Five Oak Green in preparation for a wander to the gravel pits...and having sat in the car for half an hour waiting for it to get light, and the light gradually making an effort against the grey, grey clouds....it rained hard...

.....so I went home....
