On the wings of a dove

Take time for your pleasure,
             and laugh with love....
Take the hand of another,
and sing for the wings of a dove...…….
     Smyth/Foreman/Woodgate/McPherson/Thompson/Bedford/Barson - Madness

Turtle Dove....sun does rise....

...getting sunnier.....joined by a Woodpigeon...

...near by....another....pretty ropey photo but only had my phone...

Between here and Tonbridge it seems to be quite  good spot for Turtle Doves....later spring arrivals purring in the background of a cacophony of warblers....

As usual here at Whetsted theres a few haunts worth checking for them and indeed a pair seen this morning were at one of the usual haunts....the other bird, lower photo, was further north and the previous sightings, at the west end of the site, seem to have moved on or were just being quiet...time will tell....

Other than that it was the usual array of birds...at least 10 Nightingales were singing....3 Lesser Whitethroat, 3 Garden Warbler....Whitethroats, Chiffchaffs, Reed Warblers, Cettis Warblers, Blackcaps.....Green Woodpecker, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Linnets, Starlings, Goldfinch, Chaffinch, Blackbird, Mistle Thrush, Crow, Rook, Jackdaw, Magpie, Jay, Buzzard....

Mandarin Duck

….and many more....as they used to say on the advert for vinyl albums....

Ash dieback in action.....
