0430 - 0850 cloudy, chilly, ENE f1-2
That was a different start...not just earlier....but....cloudy....so used to seeing a nice sunrise.....but still...cloudy meant it was going to be a bit later for dawn...
First bird I heard was.....probably obviously.....Nightingale.....second....Skylark, they are happy singing in the dark.....and interestingly, third.....Dunnock....
Today saw the highest number of singing Nightingales on site I have known....15....the developing scrub/trees are hopefully becoming more and more to their liking...and the same can be said for Lesser Whitethroat as there are now 11...!!….on site...a fabulous number...
Nightingale 15
Lesser Whitethroat 11
Garden Warbler 7
Willow Warbler 3
Cettis Warbler 2
Blackcap, Whitethroat, Chiffchaff...lots....
What else....Tawny Owls calling really nicely toward the eastern end of the site....
1 Lapwing, 10 Swallow, 2 Sand Martin....2 House Martin.....2 Mandarin Duck....Cuckoo....
A fly over Mediterranean Gull was a surprise....and a Lesser Black-backed Gull less so....
