Like a bird....on a wire....

...I have tried in my way...to be free...

0915 - 1115 cloudy start, warm, cleared to blue sky but clouded again. E f2

Turtle Dove

It was nice to see one of the Turtle Doves still in the same area as the other day.....theres definitely hope for it to settle on site....which would be pretty spectacular...!

I also heard a second purring at the same time, slightly north-west of this bird.....and possibly a third nearer Island Pit....possibly....

A couple of Nightingales sang briefly...Garden Warbler, Blackcap, Chiffchaff, Whitethroat, Willow Warbler....

The water has all now gone very quiet with very little around, mostly Great Crested Grebes of note.

Way out west.....I found 3 Lapwings in the West Field....the puddle out in the middle is drying up pretty rapidly so if there is a juvenile bird around, or about to be around, then the adults may have to head it off to more water...along the edge of a pit....theres one slightly west of their location....heres hoping!!

Lapwing

On my return I could hear Buzzards calling.....6 were circling and stooping over South Field and gradually drifting east.  Nice to see a group though.
