Now THAT....

....is more like it....

0915 - 1215 bright, mostly clear sky, cool to warm SE f1-3

A wonderfully clear night last night meant it had to be a good night for migration....so I was fully expecting birds to have arrived....

2 Chiffchaff....obviously hard to say if one of them is the over wintering bird....maybe that's moved on anyway.  So certainly one is a migrant that probably came over last night.  Either way they are 5 days later than last year.  I suppose the next question is if the cold and snow return in the next few days as predicted if migration will stop again for a while....

Apart from this it was a good visit with plenty to see....first...remember this from yesterday...

....and today....

So, the light was quite different, apologies, I was looking in to the sun somewhat today....the Feral Pigeon are now officially homeless....

....mind you....they have a decent amount of machinery in doing the job...

So a much more full walk today, just to make sure I wasn't missing any arrivals....just the 2 along the south side though.

There were very few Teal on show, 2 seen, several heard.  64 Shoveler, 1 Little Egret, 3 Goldeneye, 3 Gadwall, 2 Common Gull, 2 Pochard, 2 Mandarin Duck....

There were still a few Fieldfares around and I found one Redwing.  6 Linnets have turned up as well having been missing for a while.  I found 2 Nuthatches to the east of the site.

A total of 7 Buzzards were on the wing, seemingly enjoying the sunshine.  More so the Grey Herons, 12 of them floating in the sky near the Heronry.

I also found 2 Brimstone butterflies and one Small Tortoiseshell.....

For a finish I found this gate over on the north side....three....3...padlocks...reminded me of Arkwright opening the door in the mornings...(see Open All Hours if you don't know)

...count em....1...2....3....
