Arriving on the West

0900 - 1200 bright, some sun, some cloud, cold SW f2-4

Cettis Warbler briefly sand at the wet end of the site.  And here we go.....maybe this year one will not only be long staying....but hopefully finding a mate.....and one year over winter.....maybe this time....

Today I counted 89 Shoveler, so must be in the right area having 87 yesterday and 88 the previous count to that....a Little Egret was also on Middle Pit.  No Goldeneye present.

The male Goldeneye was on West Pit.

All the real action was along the west end of the site....a Peregrine alighted from a tree and a Meadow Pipit called by Middle Pit.

4 Pochard, 3 on Island Pit and one, as usual, hanging out with the Shovelers.

I could only find 3 Teal today so there has been a bit of a clear out of ducks.

Other than that it was very quiet....the SW wind was whistling a cold breeze around the site.
