Hartlake to the Lock

1 September

Went for a wander from Hartlake Bridge to Eldgridges Lock with Henry...so not really much chance of any birding....just the chance of a bird or two here and there...

First up near the bridge was a pair of Mute Swans....as we wandered along the footpath Chiffchaffs were h-weeting, accompanied by the tak-tak of Blackcaps......

As we reached the first lock, cant recall the name, there were several, perhaps 5, Buzzards calling and circling...

At Eldridges Lock we spent time, Demoiselles played on the vegetation by the canoe access....another Buzzard was sat in a tree a 100m away.....a Sparrowhawk passed by almost clinging to the trees no doubt waiting to surprise a victim....

As we were leaving two Kestrels came by, one sitting in a tree the other side of the field constantly calling....

The Buzzards were displaying quite nicely on the return, allowing me time to show Henry the underwing plumage and the short tail....

A nice couple of hours out in the sunshine....
