All Change

...and not just yer pants...!!...maybe for warmer ones...!!!

0930 - 1130 cool, overcast

Autumn has finally kicked in the door...a chilly week at last....winter visitors all over Kent....the leaves are going all Ray Davies...and a splodge of rain last night...

Interestingly the ditch has filled up....so somewhere over yonder someone has got a sluice gate in place.  Now....last Winter I reckoned they had deliberately kept the water levels higher as they seemed to take quite some time to drop this Spring....will be interesting to see what happens this Winter.
Anyway...what was around today....

Plenty of thrushes to start with....Blackbirds, Fieldfares, Song Thrushes, Redwings, Robins....Crows,, Woodpigeon, Jackdaw, Feral Pigeon, Wren, Blue Tit, Long tail Tit, Goldfinch, Linnet, Siskin, Pied Wagtail, Goldcrest, Starling, Reed Bunting, Bullfinch, Chaffinch, Great Tit, Skylark, Magpie, Dunnock, Meadow Pipit, Buzzard, Green Woodpecker....

...whilst at the western pit an adult male Sparrowhawk did a wonderful slow flight along the shore of the pit, obviously trying to scare something out of the grass/weed....having failed it alighted on a low branch, possibly so it could be admired by the many birds on the water...and me too....

At least 2 Chiffchaffs were calling toward the eastern pits....

On the pits...

Shoveler, Tufted Duck, Coot, Black-headed Gull, Mallard, Gadwall, Pochard, Little Grebe, Great Crested Grebe, Mute Swan, Cormorant, Common Gull, Moorhen, Wigeon, Grey Heron, Canada Goose, Water Rail, Snipe, Teal....
