Summer is here...so showers foecast....

Well...at last it would seem Summer has arrived...a week of nice weather.....fantastic....and a definite improvement over the rather tedious northerly winds last week....

I will hold fire on commenting too much on next weeks supposed 'heat wave' which, since first forecast has already been shrinking from a 'week' to a few days....ah...to be in England...!

So...with showers forecast this morning ringing was put on hold...so off I went to Whetsted where there was a brief shower around 0530....

0500 - 0730 Calm, overcast, becoming brighter, warming.

Really just a casual walk around some of the site to check on a few things really.  No sign of the orchids along the footpath at the western end of the site....maybe im too early....will have to look up dates for them....

Birds of note....

1 Common Tern, 1 Swift, 1 Lesser Black Back Gull, 2 Mandarin Duck, 2 Turtle Dove.

Other than that the usual array of birds was present with nothing out of the ordinary......2 Garden Warblers were competing at the quarry which was rather nice.

Chiffchaffs continue to sing...encore I say....they have already been here over 3 months and still giving it all...with the chances of another 3 months to go before they depart...surely one of our longest staying warblers...a real bright spark.....
