The forecast changed for the better so instead of visiting the gravel pit it was off ringing...an early start...up at 0415....didnt pay off in numbers of birds caught...bit quiet....and the male Cuckoos remained distant....however...

A new ringing tick for me...unexpected here at the orchard....there are houses reasonably near by, where you find these birds all the time...but I have been ringing around houses on and off for years without a sniff....but hey....thats ringing....you just never know whats coming....
