Rise up this mornin'

Not that there was a risin' sun to be seen...it hid behind the clouds when I was there....

0430 - 0810 overcast, cool, WSW f2-4

The birds have drained away from the pits....hopefully this months count will be the lowest...in terms of species....numbers of each species should improve if the ones remaining are successful in breeding....there was a single Great Crested Grebe chick on show plus 6 Mallard chicks....the Swans, 2 pairs, continue to sit......

On the pits:

20 Mallard, 17 Coot, 5 Tufted Duck, 4 Mute Swan, 9 Great Crested Grebe, 5 Moorhen, 1 Greylag Goose, 3 Grey Heron, 2 Mandarin Duck.

Around the pits:

Robin, Blackbird, Song Thrush, Dunnock, Yellowhammer, Wren, Woodpigeon, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Treecreeper, Crow, Tawny Owl, Long Tail Tit, Bullfinch, Cuckoo, Jackdaw, Green Woodpecker, Skylark, Linnet, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Magpie, Reed Bunting, Chaffinch, Swift 20+, House Martin 20+, Swallow 10, Goldfinch, Kestrel, Grey Wagtail, Feral Pigeon, Starling.
