Rare...or not rare....?

As I was wandering around the garden today I spied this little chap....

Black-headed Cardinal Beetle, Pyrochroa coccinea

When I saw it I immediately thought...Cardinal Beetle...upon checking its the Black-headed variety....and the words 'the rarer species' loomed out of the text....I suppose it depends on what you call 'rare'....im unsure of the number game here but another website assured me it is common across the south-east of the country and hardly seen 'oop' north....

Still.  Im not complaining.  There were two by the pond and thats good enough for me.  Excellent!!
