Its a beautiful noise....

......and its a sound that I love,
And it makes me feel good....
          Beautiful Noise, Neil Diamond

...the noise being....Nightingales.....2 of them singing today near the quarry....And its a sound that I love...

0600 - 0800 cool, overcast with light shower becoming brighter, warmer, some sun, SW f2 - 4/5

Second day in a row for a new warbler for the year.  Fabulous stuff....and for me the best warbler there is....anywhere....!

Woke before the alarm at 0530.  It was still quite dark so I knew already that it was overcast indeed.  I got up and had a cup of tea at home instead of taking it with me for the drive to site.  So I finally left at 0550 arriving on site for 0600.

Its always nice to get a different bird first when I get out of the car...and todays first, when I was opening the car door was....Green Woodpecker.  Followed by....

Chaffinch, Robin, Wren, Woodpigeon, Great Tit, Blackbird, Dunnock, Blackcap, Crow, Feral Pigeon, Chiffchaff, Magpie, Song Thrush, Stock Dove, Nightingale, Pied Wagtail, Yellowhammer, Kestrel, Skylark, Reed Bunting, Linnet, 1 Swallow, Bullfinch, Buzzard, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Willow Warbler, Meadow Pipit.

First on the water bird list....Green Sandpiper....and then....

Mallard, Coot, Canada Geese, Greylag Geese, Mute Swan, Tufted Duck, Shoveler, Great Crested Grebe, Gadwall, Lesser Black-backed Gull, Pochard, 2 Mandarin Duck, Moorhen, Little Grebe, Grey Heron.
