Home, home on the range......

...where the Nightingale and Whitethroat play.....hooray!!

Warbler count:

Chiffchaff 19
Whitethroat 14
Lesser Whitethroat 3
Nightingale 4
Willow Warbler 1
Blackcap 15
Sedge Warbler 5+

0530 - 0830 cool, gradually warming, misty/foggy clearing gradually 20% cloud, becoming sunny later

Blackbird, Robin, Song Thrush, Collared Dove, House Sparrow, Crow, Jackdaw all in the village, or above it, today.
Great Tit, ChaffinchWren in their usual orchard house places, though Chaffinches were quite quiet for the time of day, more lively a bit later.  I think I heard one yawn!!
Woodpigeon, Skylark across the fields.
Goldfinch, Green Woodpecker and Blackcap all heard as I approached the pits.  Here it was quite foggy and the pits were not too visible early on, so the counts here are probably unreliable.

on the pits.....

10 Mallard (2f with 5/4 chicks respectively), 9 Coot, 2 Mute Swan, 26 Tufted Duck, 4 Moorhen, 1 Cormorant, 3 Great Crested Grebe, 8 Greylag Geese (4 sitting on one pit with 10 chicks), 2 Canada Geese, 1 Snipe, 1 Grey Heron 1 Kingfisher.

around the pits.....

Chiffchaff, Whitethroat, Yellowhammer, Lesser Whitethroat, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Cuckoo (distant), Goldcrest, Linnet, Magpie, Starling (carrying food to usual Oak tree nest), Herring Gull (over W), Nightingale, Reed Bunting, Feral Pigeon, Dunnock, Blue Tit, Bullfinch, Pied Wagtail, Jay.

The Nightingale count isnt too good at the moment.  Hoping for a few more over the next couple of weeks.  I noticed that the count at Abbotts Wood was 5 this week, so im sure there are some wandering around...!

....and no pictures....still no new camera.....but at least i didnt drop anything this week....
