Bleurgh!!!

0925 - 0940 SW blustery, heavy rain.............grey.......cloudy.....

The dry conditions didnt last long....as you can probably tell from the rather short visit....I only got a few hundred yards....in the village were Robin, House Sparrow, Dunnock, Starling, Collared Dove and Woodpigeon...I managed to get distant views across the orchard of Fieldfare, Chaffinch and Blackbird....meanwhile the dark clouds  became darker and my hope that the reasonable SW wind would sweep the rain across in front of me soon diminished to a run for the car as it chucked it down....

.....15 minutes later, still in the car, I decided to call it a day and go and fill the feeders up at the orchard instead....try again Saturday perhaps....in the meantime....

....whilst standing on the bridge, deciding if it was going to rain where I was, this train passed by....and....as I had my camera out....(eeeeek...am I becoming a trainspotter....is this a 642?...or a 853?....no idea...so probably not).....

....and heres the rainbow that appeared just before the rain fell...in fact, briefly there was a double rainbow...but I think thats enough of the highlights from today....

  1. Got out for precisely 10 minutes today Graham, then just as you did, run for cover, what a crappy old winter we're getting this year!
