0630-0950, bright, 15% cloud increasing to 60% later, very little breeze, cool to start, warming later
A nice morning, though this partial rainbow appeared due, no doubt,
to the amount of misty water vapour around the pits
With no rain forecast, though as I sit here writing this its tipping it down outside at 1020hrs, I headed out....I arrived to a very quiet village with only a distant Robin to be heard. A Crow joined in again, as yesterday. Is it an unlikely couple?
Off to the orchard....where the large wooden bins are laid out in readiness of the harvest to come....House Sparrow, Magpie, Woodpogeon and Collared Dove put in an appearance before I headed off across the quiet fields....quiet until another dog owner decided it was time to call his untrained dog for a while before obviously deciding it wouldnt come but not realising that had he trained it (ha ha ha) in the first place there would have been no issue...ignorance is bliss to some....
Green Woodpecker, Jackdaw, Pied Wagtail, 3 Hobby, Dunnock, Skylark, Whitethroat, 3 Grey Heron (again very flighty and noisy), 88 Coot, 8 Little Grebe, 9 Great Crested Grebe, 10Tufted Duck, 7 Moorhen, 38 Black Headed Gull, Wren, 100+ House Martin, 20+ Sand Martin, 1 Swallow, Treecreeper, Reed Bunting, Long Tail Tit, Blackcap (singing), Great Tit, Chiffchaff (singing), 1 Spotted Flycatcher (with a large group of birds, mostly Tits but many Chiffs and Willows), 1 Canada Goose, 2 Stock Dove, Great Spotted Woodpecker, 1 Cormorant over N, Kestrel, Linnet, Jay, Buzzard, Starling
...and away they go....migration on...!!
All a bit quiet there then Graham ? Well apart from the dog owners! I have the same thing here, its never peaceful, there is always a dog barking somewhere.
