Migration On!!

0630 - 1020 cool to start warming later, 50% cloud though sunny at times.

Well...its hard to say when migration ever stops, there always seems to be something coming or going here or there...anyway...here at the pits post Greenshank a few days ago firstly 2 Wheatear made an appearance in the field just South of the pits as I wandered across, then a Willow Warbler sang on/off on the Western edge where I havent heard it before where a Common Sandpiper was spotted on the edge of the water.  Later a Nuthatch was heard.  The geese are increasing rapidly in number, 152 Greylag and 45 Canada.  Meadow Pipits are making appearances, at least 5 heard...though if this lot heard the B of Bang of the migration gun going off others seem set to have finally produced some juveniles...!

On the pits both Herring and Lesser Black-back Gulls have immatures present and endless bickering by the adults is the result.
